The Softbnb team at work in the office

Now hiring — Lagos & Abuja

The work

Two ways to earn

Apply for one or both. Every job is reviewed by the Softbnb team before it is paid, so care matters more than speed.

Listing agent

Bring a home onto Softbnb

Find landlords and short-let owners near you who aren't on Softbnb yet, and help them get started.

  1. Register the property with clear photos and its GPS location.
  2. The owner confirms and lists it from their own Softbnb account — they stay the host, not you.
  3. Once the owner's ID is approved and Softbnb puts the listing live, you're paid.

Verification agent

Check a home before a guest books

Be the guest's eyes. Softbnb assigns you listings near you to inspect in person.

  1. Visit the property at a time arranged with the host.
  2. Work through the Softbnb checklist — rooms, amenities, safety.
  3. Submit your photos from site. Once the owner's ID is approved and the listing goes live, you're paid.

NGN 5,000 Per verification

You can do both. The one limit is that you can't verify a home you brought onto Softbnb yourself — those always go to a different agent.

Where short-lets are busiest

These are the markets with the most short-let activity, so they tend to carry the most work. Applying from outside them is fine — it just means fewer jobs nearby at first.

  1. 01LagosLekki, Victoria Island and Ikoyi — the country's largest short-let market by a distance.
  2. 02FCT — AbujaGovernment, diplomatic and conference travel keeps serviced apartments busy year round.
  3. 03RiversPort Harcourt's oil and gas corporate stays, often booked for weeks at a time.
  4. 04OyoIbadan draws university traffic and steady overflow from Lagos.
  5. 05EnuguThe South-East's hub, and one of the busiest places in the country each December.
  6. 06AnambraOnitsha and Nnewi trade, plus heavy diaspora visits through the holidays.
  7. 07DeltaAsaba's events and film work, alongside the Warri energy corridor.
  8. 08Akwa IbomUyo's conference calendar and the state's push into tourism.
  9. 09Cross RiverCalabar's carnival season and the Obudu resort draw visitors from across Nigeria.
  10. 10KanoThe North's commercial centre, with business travel through most of the year.

Right now, most agent work comes from Lagos and Abuja. Apply from any state — we open new areas as listings appear there.

The rules

Trust comes first

Guests and hosts let our agents into their homes and rely on what they report. These rules protect them — and protect you.

Independent contractors

Agents are contractors, not employees. You decide when and how often you work.

No conflicts of interest

An agent can never list their own property, and can never verify a listing they brought in.

An ID anyone can check

Every agent carries a Softbnb ID with a QR code. Scanning it opens jobs.softbnb.com/verify-agent/CODE, which shows in real time whether that agent is active.

Paid to your Softbnb wallet

Earnings land in your wallet when the owner's ID is approved and the listing goes live. You withdraw to your bank from there.

Duplicates earn nothing

If a property is already on Softbnb, or another agent registered it first, it doesn't earn a fee.

Never ask for money

Agents never collect cash, bank details or OTPs from an owner or guest. Not once, not for any reason.

Questions

What do I need to apply?
  • You must be 18 or older.
  • A valid government-issued ID (NIN, international passport, driver's licence or voter's card).
  • A smartphone with a working camera and GPS, plus mobile data.
  • You should live in, and be able to move around, one of the cities where we're hiring.
How much can I earn?

You're paid per approved job, so your earnings depend on how many you complete.

Listing a property: NGN 15,000.
Verifying a property: NGN 5,000.

There is no fixed salary and no minimum number of jobs.

When am I paid?

After the Softbnb team reviews and approves your work, the fee is credited to your Softbnb wallet. For a new listing, that happens once the property has passed an independent verification. You can then withdraw to your Nigerian bank account.

Can I do both roles?

Yes. You can apply to list properties, verify properties, or both. The one limit is that you can't verify a property you brought onto Softbnb yourself — those go to a different agent.

Is this a job or a contract?

It's a contract. Softbnb field agents are independent contractors, not employees. You set your own hours, you aren't paid a salary, and you're responsible for your own taxes. The contractor agreement you sign before starting sets out the details.
