What a listing agent does
You're the reason a home joins Softbnb. The owner stays the host; your job is to find them and get the property registered properly, so it passes its check first time.
One listing, start to paid
- Find an owner. Look for landlords and short-let owners in your area whose homes aren't on Softbnb yet, and explain how listing works.
- Photograph the home on site. Take clear photos at the property and capture its GPS location while you're there.
- Register it in the agent portal. Add the owner's details and the property, then submit it.
- The owner confirms. They confirm and list the home from their own Softbnb account. They're the host, not you.
- It's checked, then you're paid. A different agent inspects the home in person. Once it passes and our team approves it, NGN 15,000 lands in your Softbnb wallet.
What earns a fee
- The home is new to Softbnb. If it's already listed, or another agent registered it first, it's a duplicate and earns nothing.
- It isn't yours. Agents never list their own property.
- It's really there. The photos and the GPS location come from the property itself.
- You never ask for money. Agents never collect cash, bank details or OTPs from an owner, for any reason.
You can do both roles. The one limit: you can't verify a home you brought onto Softbnb yourself. It always goes to a different agent.

Who we're looking for
People who know their neighbourhood and the owners in it, and who take care over the details. Every listing is reviewed before it's paid.
What you need
- You're 18 or older.
- A valid government ID: NIN, international passport, driver's licence or voter's card.
- A smartphone with a working camera and GPS, plus mobile data.
- You're comfortable talking to landlords and owners about listing their homes.

We're hiring in Lagos and Abuja now, because that's where most of the work is today. Applicants from all 36 states and the FCT are welcome: you work the area you already know, and new areas open as listings appear there.
Getting started
How to get started
Usually a couple of weeks from applying to your first job. Everything happens online until the day you collect your agent ID.
Apply
Create your account and tell us your state, the areas you know and the role you want. About five minutes.
Verify your identity
Upload a valid government ID, so owners and guests know exactly who is at the door.
Short interview
A friendly call on Zoom or Google Meet about the area you know and how you'd find owners there.
Sign the agreement
Read and accept the independent contractor agreement online.
Collect your agent ID
Your Softbnb agent card, with a QR code anyone can scan to check you're active.
How much does a listing agent earn?
NGN 15,000 for each listing that passes an independent check and is approved.
There's no salary and no minimum number of listings, so what you earn depends on how many homes you bring in.
When am I paid for a listing?
Not when you submit it. The owner confirms and lists the home from their own account, then a different agent inspects it in person.
Once it passes and the Softbnb team approves it, the fee lands in your Softbnb wallet. You withdraw to your Nigerian bank account from there.
What if the home is already on Softbnb?
It doesn't earn a fee. A property that's already on Softbnb, or that another agent registered first, counts as a duplicate.
Can I verify the homes I list?
No. A home you brought onto Softbnb always goes to a different agent for its check. You can still apply for the verification role and inspect other agents' listings.
Do I have to live in Lagos or Abuja?
No. We're hiring in Lagos and Abuja first because that's where most of the work is, but applicants from all 36 states and the FCT are welcome. You work the area you already know.
