What a verification agent does
Guests book on what you report. Your visit is how Softbnb knows a home is exactly what its listing shows.
One visit, start to paid
- Get an assignment. Softbnb assigns you listings near you to inspect.
- Arrange the visit. Agree a time with the host and carry your agent ID. They can scan its QR code to check you're active.
- Inspect in person. Work through the Softbnb checklist: rooms, amenities and safety.
- Submit from site. Take your photos at the property and submit them through the agent portal.
- Get paid. Once our team approves your visit, NGN 5,000 lands in your Softbnb wallet.
What we ask of you
- Report what's there. Describe the home as you find it, not as the listing says it is.
- Only other agents' listings. You can't verify a home you brought onto Softbnb yourself.
- Photos from the property. Submit them from site, during the visit.
- You never ask for money. Agents never collect cash, bank details or OTPs from a host or guest, for any reason.
You can do both roles. The one limit: a home you brought onto Softbnb yourself always goes to a different agent for its check.

Who we're looking for
People with an eye for detail who can get around their area and report honestly on what they see. Every visit is reviewed before it's paid.
What you need
- You're 18 or older.
- A valid government ID: NIN, international passport, driver's licence or voter's card.
- A smartphone with a working camera and GPS, plus mobile data.
- You can travel to homes in your area at times arranged with the host.

Getting started
How to get started
Usually a couple of weeks from applying to your first job. Everything happens online until the day you collect your agent ID.

Verify your identity
Upload a valid government ID, so owners and guests know exactly who is at the door.
Short interview
A friendly call on Zoom or Google Meet about inspections and the Softbnb checklist.
Sign the agreement
Read and accept the independent contractor agreement online.
Collect your agent ID
Your Softbnb agent card, with a QR code anyone can scan to check you're active.
How much does a verification agent earn?
NGN 5,000 for each verification the Softbnb team approves.
There's no salary and no minimum number of visits, so what you earn depends on how many you complete.
How are inspections assigned?
Softbnb assigns you listings near you. You arrange a time with the host, visit in person and work through the checklist.
What does an inspection involve?
You check the rooms, amenities and safety against the Softbnb checklist, take photos at the property and submit them from site. Our team reviews every visit before it's paid.
Can I verify a home I listed myself?
No. A home you brought onto Softbnb always goes to a different agent. You can do both roles, just never on the same home.
Is this a job or a contract?
A contract. Softbnb field agents are independent contractors, not employees: you set your own hours, you aren't paid a salary, and you're responsible for your own taxes. The contractor agreement you sign before starting sets out the details.
